Preston Police confirmed they were called to Meadow Street.

A woman’s body was found in the street at Pump Street close to the Fleece Inn where Meadow Street meets St Paul’s Road in Deepdale.

A police spokesman confirmed to Blog Preston there had been a ‘death outdoors’ and officers were called around 8am on Saturday (20 April).

An eyewitness told Blog Preston: “There was a white tent up and police everywhere.

“They had cordoned off a stretch of Meadow Street. There was police tape on the street.

“We saw a stretcher taking someone away. We were told it was a woman.”

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
