A Preston city centre restaurant and bar has denied it is closing.

Trinity on the Square, in what was Solita, opened in January.

But Jonathan ‘Jay’ Williams has spoken out amid rumours the bar has been struggling and would be closing.

Former employees had spoken to LancsLive about staff not being paid.

Blog Preston has also been contacted by a number of staff, both past and present, who said the bar’s management has not been paying them for work undertaken.

General manager of the restaurant Mr Williams admitted to Blog Preston there had been issues with paying staff but they were working to clear a backlog of outstanding payments.

He told Blog Preston: “First of all, no we are not closing.

“Unfortunately due to a very slow start and opening a new business in a very challenging time it has left us short when coming to paying staff wages.

“We have started to contact staff to arrange payment plans and get any outstanding payments cleared.

“We have this week taken consultation and experience from an existing leisure company within Preston and over the next couple of weeks you will see some new and exciting changes at Trinity.”
