Preston is being told to prepare for a snowy and icy Sunday evening.
Monday (11 March) morning commutes are also expected to be affected.
Wintry showers are forecast from 9pm on Sunday through until 10am on Monday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice.
Strong winds are already lashing the city throughout Sunday afternoon.
Temperatures will drop to around four degrees overnight and hail showers are forecast.
The Met Office says roads and railways likely to be affected and there will be icy patches on some untreated roads.
Lancashire County Council says it is gritting all priority routes in Preston and Central Lancashire throughout Sunday afternoon.
