A day showcasing the city’s buzzing arts scene is to take place at Preston’s university.

Derelict Theatre are preparing to take over the Media Factory in the University of Central Lancashire.

Branded as Derelict Mayhem it will see emerging and established artists perform on 25 May.

Artistic director of Derelict Chris Gilligan said: “We’re really excited to be holding our second annual platform of new performance work. Last year’s event showcased work that was local, regional and nationally diverse.

“This short festival is a beacon to artists across the country that Preston really is an emerging centre for creative performance output and a perfect place to launch new ideas.”

The group are appealing for artists and arts groups to come forward and get involved with performances.
