A second teenager has been arrested after a teenage girl was stabbed in the back in Fulwood.
As first reported on Blog Preston during Friday (1 March) a 17-year-old girl was attacked on a footpath between Levensgarth Avenue and Southey Close.
Preston Police cordoned off the area and arrested a 16-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy. Both have now been bailed.
They remain in custody and are both arrested on suspicion of wounding.
Police say the victim was found with puncture wounds to her back and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
She remains in hospital and her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Detective Inspector Dan Onions of Preston CID said: This is a serious incident where a young girl has sustained nasty injuries.
“Although, at this stage the injuries are not thought to be life threatening it is purely through good fortune that the outcome has not been more serious.”
