A second night of stop and search powers is being deployed by police in Preston.

Following the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in Samuel Street, Fishwick, the Section 60 order is in force.

The area covering Fishwick, St Matthews, and parts of Deepdale and Ribbleton means police can stop and search anyone without needing suspicion.

Police say the use of Section 60 is in response to a belief violence could take place in the area.

Officers can also require face coverings or disguises to be removed.

Preston Police said the Monday night stop and search saw one person arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and a second person on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.
