Preston’s only indoor roller rink has announced it is closing.
Roller World opened in Campbell Street in July and has been popular with children and families.
But in a shock announcement on social media this week, Roller World said: “Unfortunately this is our last weekend here on Campbell Street.
“Please come and have fun for this final weekend and say goodbye.”
Many posters responded asking whether the roller rink would be moving to a new location, while others said they were concerned about parties they have booked.
Darren Ofsarnie of the Besides Friends Group, the parent company of Roller World, confirmed the centre would be re-locating.
He told Blog Preston: “We have some very exciting news at Besides Friends. Due to our recent purchase of shares within Smart Fitness based on London Road we are relocating Roller World to London Road Preston to allow Smart Fitness to move into larger premises as the current site has reached its capacity on classes.
“Roller World will re-locate to the London Road site with an estimated opening date of Saturday 30th March, We would just like to thank all our loyal roller customers for the support they have shown Roller World since we launched in the summer. With even more skating fun expected at our new sites.
“No party bookings have been taken in the 2 week closure with other party bookings due to be held at the new site.
“Smart Fitness is also venturing into a new phase as we invest into new gym and class equipment at the new site when it launches on Monday 18th March.”
