A Preston taxi-driver who was arrested in December for a ‘hate-filled rant’ against Christians is still facing investigation.
Zaheer Hussain was arrested following the video surfacing online. He was arrested on suspicion of religiously aggravated harassment.
He was bailed until 10 March and police said he has now been ‘released pending further investigation’.
More than 2,000 people signed a petition calling for his licence to be permanently revoked by Preston City Council.
Mr Hussain drove a black cab in the city and he decided to surrender his licence before a licensing committee was due to meet to decide his future.
He also released a second video in which he apologised for his comments.
Police and the city council have been criticised by the Ex-Muslims Preston Association for further action not being taken.
