Police put cordon in place around Fulwood footpath

Police have taped off access to the footpath opposite the junction of Levensgarth Avenue and Singleton Way in Fulwood Pic: Blog Preston

A police cordon is in force in Fulwood following unconfirmed reports of a stabbing.

Preston Police have officers on scene watch at a footpath Levensgarth Avenue between and Southey Close.

During Friday evening police confirmed to Blog Preston a teenage girl had been stabbed.

A dimly lit footpath is closed to the public alongside the park which is off Levensgarth Avenue.

Blog Preston understands a teenage girl was hurt in the incident.

Forensic units are expected on the scene over the coming hours as around four patrol cars remained in the area around 9pm.

The incident took place around 7.30pm on Friday (1 March).

Preston Police said no details are being released at this stage.
