Police give update on driver’s condition after Bamber Bridge crash

A driver is in a ‘critical condition’ following a crash in Bamber Bridge.

South Ribble Police closed Chorley Road where it meets Renshaw Drive around 2.20am on Sunday (31 March).

A black Mercedes C180 was involved in a collision at a roundabout and hit a wall before flipping onto its side.

The 45-year-old driver sustained serious head injuries and had to be cut free by crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Temperorary Sergeant Martin Wilcock of the Lancashire Police Tactical Operations team said: “A man has been seriously injured following a collision in Bamber Bridge.

“We would ask anyone who saw what happened to come forward and speak to police.

“Furthermore, if you saw the vehicle described in the moments before the incident, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log reference 0103 of March 31.
