Flood warnings remain in force for the River Ribble at Preston as the river begins to burst its banks.

Two sections of the river are rising rapidly following heavy rain throughout Friday night and Saturday brought by Storm Hannah.

With no sign of the rain letting up the Environment Agency has issued two flood warnings, and a flood alert, covering different stretches of the river as well as a number of brooks in the city.

Stephen Melling was out on the Guild Wheel and saw the extent of the flooding at Samlesbury under the M6.

The river level was 4.24m as of 5.15pm on Saturday.

And the Ribble at Walton-le-Dale and along the side of Avenham Park it is breaking over the side and up into the park causing flooding.

Lisa Brown captured the scenes in the park and Frenchwood as the river level is also at 4.24m.
