A nursery in Preston has been targeted in a potential arson attack.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Maryland’s Private Nursery in Pope Lane, Penwortham.

Smoke was seen coming from a shed within the nursery’s grounds on Monday (25 March) evening.

Pictures released by the nursery show the fire damage to the structure.

A number of toys within the shed have been destroyed in the fire.

Broad Oak Primary School, which is located next door, said it had not been affected.

An arson investigation is due to take place and anyone with information can contact South Ribble Police on 101 quoting incident number LC-20190325-153.
