Calling all comedians, or those who just love to laugh.

This weekend sees the launch of a new comedy night at Vinyl Tap.

The bar and music venue will host the first of the new monthly events which will take place on the first Sunday of every month.

Vinyl Tap has paired up with comedian and promoter Barrie Heap, who runs Cheshire Cat Comedy to host the stand-up open mic style comedy club.

Barrie hosts and organises many comedy events around the north west helping to promote new and more seasoned comedians from around the north west of England.

He will MC the event and there will be five new acts and a headliner with more experience of the comedy circuit.

Richard Fisher-Godwin, landlord of Vinyl Tap, said: “We really want to give this a chance to grow, with the hope to expand at some point to a fortnightly event.

“We hope in the future to book bigger acts that are touring their shows around the UK.

“We also urge any local comedians who are interested in showing off their talents to get in touch with Cheshire Cat Comedy through their Facebook page.”
