Another group of pro-Brexit campaigners are threatening a go-slow on the M6 just north of Preston.

Drivers were braced for delays after a social media campaign was founded for a go-slow during Friday (22 March) rush hour.

However, no delays materialised as truckers stayed off the road.

Lancashire Police have put out a warning regarding a second go-slow, this time planned for the motorway just to the north of the city.

The go-slow would run from Junction 33 (Garstang) up to Junction 35 Carnforth and start from 6pm tonight.

A spokesman for the police said: “We have been made aware of plans for ‘go slow’ protests on the M6 motorway by independent Brexit groups.

“It is expected there will be delays and congestion in the area as a result so please allow extra time for your journeys.

“The police will support Highways England who are responsible for keeping our road network moving.

“While we facilitate the right to peaceful and lawful protest, we will also deal with any unlawful obstruction or other motoring offences as they become apparent.”
