Two teenagers held on suspicion of stabbing a 17-year-old girl have been released on bail.
A 16-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested on suspicion of wounding.
It followed a teenage girl being found with puncture wounds to her back on a footpath off Levensgarth Avenue during Friday evening. She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and her injuries were confirmed to be ‘non life-threatening’.
Preston Police confirmed to Blog Preston the pair have been bailed until Friday 29 March.
During Friday night police closed off a footpath between Southey Close and Levensgarth Avenue.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
Detective Inspector Dan Onions of Preston CID said: This is a serious incident where a young girl has sustained nasty injuries.
“Although, at this stage the injuries are not thought to be life threatening it is purely through good fortune that the outcome has not been more serious.”
