A new children’s play area has opened in Cottam.

The Kinder Hub is within what was a ‘wacky warehouse’ behind the Ancient Oak pub.

Blog Preston’s ‘mini blogger’ was invited along for a first-play within the new play centre.

As well as having a giant climbing frame and slide the indoor play centre has a number of different roleplay areas.

Fixing cars in the garage, riding a police car or playing shop there’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained.

A dedicated toddler section has crash mats and a soft slide to go down.

Lisa Charnley and Elaine Cooke are behind the venture called The Kinder Hub.

Previously they ran the Newlands Nursery for 25 years in Tower Lane, Fulwood.

Lisa said: “We’re really proud of how it looks and the proof is of course in how the children get on.

“It’s been really encouraging that we’ve had so much interest already and we’ve had to introduce a two-hour time limit for sessions because of this.”

An extensive cafe area has plenty of lunch and snack options, and serves good coffee.

What did mini blogger made of it?

I liked the toddler play area as I am only just two.

Going round and up and down the little slide was lots of fun.

The shop was my favourite as I liked to push the trolley around, take all the items out and then play with the till.

There’s a very good slide on the big climbing frame, but I’m still a bit too small to get up easily on it all.

How much is it and how does it work?

Kinder Hub is free for babies up to five months, £2.20 for six months to 11 months, £3.45 for one to two years and £5.75 for ages three to seven.

It’s opening hours are in two hour session blocks and it’s advised to book in advance.
