A new pre-loved fashion shop is opening in the Box Market within Preston Market.

Dionne’s Little Wardrobe launches on Thursday 28 March. Selling affordable fashion, the shop is being opened by Dionne Anderson.

Dionne, who is originally from Leeds but has lived in Preston for 16 years, said: “As a single parent with two girls I have always loved dressing us all in the current trends.

“The cost of today’s fashion has always been a bit pricey. Plus if you buy from the high street you’re guaranteed to bump into someone who has the same outfit on.

“I started buying clothes from the internet whenever we had a special occasion. I then began selling those clothes online once we’d worn them.

“The amount of clothes we started to accumulate was unreal, so I then started doing car boots. This was a bit difficult to do on my own as you always need two pairs of hands.

“When I saw the Box Market I thought it’s a market stall but a permanent stall. Once I’m set up it’s a place I can manage alone without having to rely on other people.

“It’s also showing my children that if you work hard you can do anything. One of the best things about my business is I can get them involved after school, at weekends, and during school holidays. No more paying for child care.

“I’ve gone from selling on the internet to now owning my own little pop-up shop. Who knows in the future I may have a chain of Dionne’s Little Wardrobe across the country.

“I’m looking forward to a new chapter for me and my girls. I don’t expect it to be easy but I know we will enjoy the challenge.”

Chris Hayward, Director of Development at Preston City Council said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Dionne’s Little Wardrobe to the Box Market.

“This new business will be a great addition to Preston Markets, enhancing the current offer to include clothing.

“We continue to encourage people to shop local and support your local businesses.”

The shop will be open between 8am and 4pm from Tuesday to Saturday. All items are individually priced, and customers needing to return items will be offered an exchange rather than a refund.
