Cheers! The Bear’s Paw is back for business

The Bear’s Paw in Church Street is back open for business.

Earlier this week owners Amber Taverns were forced to call time after a neighbouring building was condemned by Preston City Council.

Water damage from a neighbouring Polish deli seeped through into the building, causing damage to the upstairs of the 200-year-old pub.

But Operations manager Gary Jones has now confirmed the building is sound and the bar is now open.

He said: “Our contractors and Structural engineers are confident that the building next door has been made safe.

“The damage to our building has been made good.

“The management and staff are back behind the bar pulling pints for the thirsty regulars.”
