Storm Erik causes fallen trees across Preston

Fallen trees are being dealt with across Preston in the wake of Storm Erik.

Guests of up to 60mph ratted roof tiles across the city from the early hours of Saturday (9 February).

Blackpool Road at the junction of St Gregory’s Road was blocked around 5am but was cleared by 6.30am with residents awoken by the sounds of chainsaws.

Brook Street where it meets Blackpool Road has also been blocked by a fallen tree.

And a pavement in Broadgate is blocked by a fallen tree by the River Ribble.

A Met Office weather warning remains in force for strong winds through to 3pm on Saturday.
