Roadworks which have caused gridlock around Fulwood have come to an end.
Lancashire County Council has explained why there’s been a three-day daytime closure of Watling Street Road.
A section from the junction with Sharoe Green Lane has been shut from 8am to 5pm from Tuesday (5 February) until Thursday (7 February).
A spokesman for the county council said: We’re carrying out resurfacing work on Watling Street Road, which is scheduled to finish later this afternoon.
“The work affects a section between Holmfield Road and Bhailok Square, past the junction with Sharoe Green Lane.
“We apologise for the disruption it caused to people’s journeys yesterday, as this is a fairly busy route.
“If we carried out this work overnight, it would be very disruptive for local properties and would affect how we could carry out this work.
“The diversionary route is via the A6 Garstang Road, Blackpool Road and Sir Tom Finney Way.”
Heavy traffic has been in Blackpool Road along Moor Park and St Vincent’s Road each day as a result of the closure.
