Preston has been basking in unusually high February temperatures.

The mercury has reached up to 18 degrees during Friday and Saturday.

Winckley Square and Avenham Park have been filled with friends and families having picnics.

It feels like early summer rather than the February half-term.

Here’s how long the warm days and sunshine is due to last:

Sunday (24 February)

Morning – The sun breaks through around 8am and we’re up to 13 degrees by 11am

Afternoon – The best of the sunshine is in the late afternoon, and temperatures hit a high of 16 degrees. Sunday afternoon beer garden sessions it is.
