Pictures show car flipped on its roof in Elswick

Police are on the lookout for the driver of a car which was found flipped on its roof in Elswick last night.

The vehicle was spotted upside down in a country lane in the early hours of Sunday.

The driver had fled the scene – but left a strong smell behind.

The Roads Policing Unit tweeted: “One lucky escape for this driver who didn’t hang around to speak to Police.

“They clearly ran out of talent whilst driving through Elswick!

“All that’s left to do now is track down the driver & ask why their car stunk of cannabis?”
