There’s a new monthly event opening it’s doors in the city centre this weekend.
Between the bars and pubs in Lune Street, the Central Methodist Church is hosting the first of it’s regular ‘Night Church’ events.
Using a mixture of candles, mood lighting and music it seeks to offer a safe place to meet God for those who might otherwise never venture into a church.
Visitors are welcome to call in for a chat, have a cup of tea or coffee, light candles and pray if they wish.

A church spokesman said: “After a successful pilot night on ‘mad Friday’ 21st December, night church will become a regular event in the city centre.
“Billed as a ‘Sacred place in the city’ night church takes place from 9pm to midnight the first Saturday of each month.”
