New micropub and cafe bar to open in Penwortham

There’s a new micropub and cafe bar opening in Penwortham in what was a beauty salon.

The former Serenni & Co is undergoing refurbishment and will open its doors as the Barrel and Bean Co. in time for St Patrick’s Day in March.

Owner Ken Masterson says the focus will be on quality ales and coffee from local suppliers.

The Barrel and Bean will open in Leyland Rd in March

Work is underway to install a bar and fixtures to create a warm welcome at the pint sized pub and cafe.

Ken says: “There isn’t really anything like this in this part of Penwortham, so we’re looking forward to opening.”
