A boxing club in Larches is so popular it is bursting at the seams.
Larches and Savick Boxing Academy has trained the likes of Commonwealth Games gold-winning medalists Scott Fitzgerald and Lisa Whiteside.
Plans have gone in to build a new extension due to the popularity of the boxing centre and gym.
Documents lodged with Preston City Council by the club state: “It is proposed the existing outside training area that is used daily, depending on weather conditions, be utilised for the proposed extension of the club and become an area that can now be used in all weather conditions and have a much lower noise impact on the surrounding properties.”
Two internal classrooms would be created with the addition of a first-floor mezzanine.
A letter from the club says: “Larches and Savick Boxing Club has grown massively since opening and alongside being a Boxing Academy and a fitness facility, it is part of the community and the staff have continuously growing relationships with the people and youths we connect with.”
