Michael Portillo learns about Edith Rigby on a Great British Railway Journey through Preston

Journalist and railway enthusiast Michael Portillo will visit Preston in the next episode of BBC’s Great British Railway Journeys.

Returning to the screen for its 10th series, Portillo kicks off with a trip through England’s industrial heartlands.

Starting in Warrington he travels to Huyton and then to Preston where he hears about the city’s most famous suffragette, Edith Rigby, and her links with Hutton and Howick WI.
