Fire crews cutting driver from car in Ashton-on-Ribble

A busy road in Ashton-on-Ribble has been closed off by emergency services.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service could be seen cutting someone from their car.

Two cars are understood to have been involved in the crash in Woodplumpton Road.

The crash took place close to the junction with Lytham Road.

It is not known at this stage whether anyone has been injured but the North West Ambulance Service are in attendance.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Two fire engines from Preston attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Woodplumpton Road in Preston.

“Firefighters used cutting equipment to release one casualty from one of the vehicles, who was taken to hospital by ambulance.”

The crash took place around 5pm on Friday 22 February.
