Homeowners living around Royal Preston Hospital have been offering out their driveways to staff and visitors.

A Facebook group has been set up to help those struggling to park at the hospital.

Student nurses have had their cars vandalised in nearby streets in Fulwood as pressure on hospital parking grows.

Those studying and some other hospital workers do not qualify for parking permits within RPH.

Janice Wardley set up the group on social media in response.

Named ‘Share my drive ‘it’s nice to be nice’ it allows those looking to park at the hospital to post in if they are looking for space and those who live nearby to offer up their driveways while out at work.

So far 155 people have joined the group.
