Preston City Council posted the pictures of three men taking rubbish bags.

The bags were found ripped and open at the corner of Hermon Street and Plungington Road at the beginning of February.

The city council said a number of items had been taken from the bags.

A spokeswoman for the council said: “The CCTV images clearly show three men arrived with the bags and begin to rifle through the contents.

“Please don’t name those involved on social media as this could hinder any future action.”
