Traffic collision causes long delays on M6 near Preston

A traffic collision has caused long delays for motorists travelling on the M6 near Preston.

The motorway was blocked heading southbound between Junction 32 for the M55 and Junction 31A.

Police were called to the scene and a recovery process started.

All lanes have been reopened however up to four miles of congestion still remains.

Closed lanes were gradually released and Highways England have now announced that the recovery process has been completed.

This should start to ease soon but motorists should take note.
