Terrifying footage shows driver going the wrong way down M55

A driver has been filmed driving the wrong way down the M55 near Preston.

The incident happened on Sunday 13 January when traffic was travelling westbound between Junction 1, Broughton, and Junction 3 at Kirkham.

The driver proceeded to drive along this route but against the flow of westbound traffic.

One driver who saw the incident, who was heading eastbound at the time, said: “Just after Kirkham turn off we saw him. We were heading to the M6 and there’s a car going down the wrong side. I told my partner to get their phone out and film it.”

 The driver’s actions were caught on camera, showing the vehicle travelling the wrong way.

The road was not well lit at the time.
