Snow warning issued for Tuesday and Wednesday in Preston

Motorists in Preston are being told to expect difficult driving conditions from lunchtime on Tuesday.

The Met Office has issued a snow and ice warning for the city and surrounding area.

The yellow warning, the lowest level, runs from 12noon on Tuesday (29 January) to 11am on Wednesday (30 January).

Temperatures on Tuesday evening are expected to fall to around -1 degrees overnight.

Forecast for the week ahead also predicts light snow for Thursday (31 January).

A warning from the Met Office says on Tuesday: “Rain turning to snow, especially on hills, then turning icy.

“Some road and railway journeys are affected.”
