There will be an extra sparkle for this year’s Preston Caribbean Carnival.
Samba-ing through the streets of Deepdale they mark the sapphire anniversary for one of the flagship events in the city.
Starting in 1974 it will be the 45th year for the carnival.
This year’s Preston carnival will be on Sunday 23 June and once again takes over Moor Park.
A procession takes in Deepdale Road, around Deepdale, into North Road and then back down Moor Park Avenue.
The Carnival is the largest and longest-running cultural celebration in the city outside of the Preston Guild.
