Overturned caravan causes M6 delays

Recovery vehicles are working to clear an over-turned caravan from the M6 to the north of Preston.

Anyone heading back to the city from the north of Lancashire or the Lake District is advised to allow extra time for their journey.

The caravan is overturned between Junction 34 and Junction 33 southbound and the crash took place around 12.30pm.

Lancashire Road Police are at the scene where a car has lost control of the caravan, which is overturned and the car is tilted at an angle.

One lane is open past the scene and delays of up to 50 minutes are expected on Tuesday (1 January).

The motorway was cleared around 2.15pm and normal traffic conditions expected by 4pm.
