A national steak restaurant has denied it will be them taking on a unit in the Guild Hall.
Miller and Carter Steakhouse were among those rumoured to be taking on what was Vittorias.
The chain has Preston on its ‘desirable locations’ list which was circulated in 2018.
Simon Rigby announced just after Christmas the Italian restaurant, Vittorias, would be closing on Sunday (30 December).

Mr Rigby, the multi-millionaire owner of the Guild Hall, said a ‘steak restaurant, a national operator with strong local ties, would be taking its [Vittorias] place’.
A spokesman for Miller and Carter Restaurants told Blog Preston: “We have no plans to open at the Preston Guild Hall.
“However, we’re constantly looking at opportunities to grow our Miller and Carter brand and Preston is somewhere we are considering for the future.”
