Met office extends yellow warning for snow and ice

The Met Office has issued a new warning for snow and ice this week.

Temperatures will remain in single figures with the warning in place from 3pm on Thursday.

Preston is at the edge of the yellow warning zone, which covers most of the North West but leaves out coastal areas.

Residents are advised there is an increased risk of travel delays and accidents from trips and falls.

The warning remains in place until Friday.

It follows warnings earlier in the week, but as yet the city is yet to see a flurry.
