Man jumped and has ear bitten while walking between Preston nightclubs

A clubber had part of his ear bitten off during an attack in Preston city centre.

Preston Police have launched an appeal after the assault in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The 23-year-old man was walking between Evoque nightclub in Church Street and heading for Switch in Market Street.

Between 2am and 2.30am he was approached from behind and assaulted.

Police say they don’t know how many people were involved in the assault. They also don’t know the exact location where the attack took place.

The man suffered injuries to his face and a bite to his ear which needed stitches.

DC Nicola Jackson of Preston Police, said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a young man who was out celebrating New Year’s Eve.

“We’re making a number of enquiries to find out who is responsible but would ask that anyone who witnessed the assault, or saw anything suspicious in the area, gets in touch with us as soon as possible.”
