A Manchester man is in custody following a handgun being fired at a house in Fulwood.
AdvertisementPreston Police stepped up patrols after the incident late on Thursday 3 January.
The police said with the assistance of Greater Manchester Police they had detained a 39-year-old man from Cheadle.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and criminal damage.
Police found him at an address in Stockport.
The property in Garstang Road was targeted in the shooting around 11.45pm, although not reported to police until 8.25am on Friday 4 January.
Damage was caused to the porch window of the property, close to Broughton and Fulwood Cricket Club.
No one was hurt in the incident.
