KFC at Deepdale Shopping Park is closed for a refit.
Proposals lodged with Preston City Council explain the chicken eatery is relocating its main entrance and creating a new outdoor seating area.
Work has already begun at the unit within the retail park and it will remain closed throughout the work.
A KFC spokesman said: “We always want our restaurants looking their best, which is why we’ve closed our Deepdale Retail Park restaurant for four weeks whilst we give it a refurb.
“We promise it’ll be worth the wait – we’ll be back at the fryers before you know it.”

A second application to the city council states KFC wants to put up 10 new internally illuminated signs and eight non-illuminated signs as part of its work.
Preston and KFC have a strong connection, with the first Kentucky Fried Chicken in the UK opened in Fishergate in 1965.
