A burst water main left residents and business in Ingol without water today (Friday 11 January).
Dovedale Avenue was been identified as the road with a faulty valve.
United Utilities identified this to be the cause of no water in the area.
Engineers were on site this afternoon trying to tackle the problem, which is now resolved.
Water is reported to be back on for residents.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We have identified a faulty valve on Dovedale Avenue which we think is the cause for no water in the area.
“Thank you for your continued patience. We will update this message as soon as we have more information.”

The water company apologised for the incident and stated that they were trying to get people’s taps flowing normally as quickly as they could.
It said: “We’ve had an issue with a valve on Dovedale Avenue, causing a very localised impact on water supplies. Engineers are currently on site carrying out the necessary repair work on the valve to help get taps flowing again this afternoon.”
The company has received nine calls into the contact centre reporting a problem.
United Utilities continued: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary disruption.”
