A yellow weather warning has been issued for Preston and Lancashire over weekend.
Freezing rain, black ice and snow are predicted for Saturday 15 – Sunday 16 December, says Met Office officials.
So make sure you wrap up warm, take precaution and prepare for any journeys as traffic could be affected.

Saturday 15 December
6am – It’s certainly a chilly come start to the day, with temperated at a low one degrees
7am – Overcast morning and temperatures are at two degrees, but feels like minus four
8am – Wind speed is 17 mph in the direction of south east. Sunrise at 8.22am
9am – Yellow weather warning kicks in from here. Expect snow and ice throughout the day
10am – Still overcast with chilly winds at 17pmh.
11am – Grey clouds are up above and winds are increasing
12pm – Be careful out there, winds continuing to build stronger. The sky brightens slightly
1pm – Grey clouds return, with a 20 percent chance of precipitation
2pm – The heavens open with light rain from here
3pm – Grab your umbrellas, black cloud and heavy rain
4pm – Rain continues to pour. The sun starts to set
5pm – Temperatures at two degrees, feeling like minus four.
6pm – The heavy rain keeps coming
7pm – Slackening off to light showers now, temperatures increasing by one or two degrees
8pm – Thankfully, we have a break from rain – but not for long
9pm – The dark clouds reappear, rain to bounce off the ground
10pm – Temperatures at six degrees now
11pm – Looks like it’s rain into the night

Sunday 16 December
12am – Light showers are predicted
3am – The rain eases off but clouds can be spotted up above
6am – Partly cloudy as we ease into Sunday
9am – The sun emerges for the first time this weekend
12pm – Yellow weather warning has finished. Temperatures at six degrees
3pm – Partly cloudy for the afternoon but staying nice and dry
6pm – Some clouds up above for the evening setting the precedent for the evening, with winds at 8mph
9pm – Set to be a dry night with temperatures at five degrees marking the end to a cold weekend
