The man police are searching for in connection with Plungington Christmas Day lockdown

Police are looking to speak to Warren Givens

Police have released an image of the man wanted in connection with a serious assault on Christmas Day, warning the public not to approach him.

Blackpool Road was closed on Christmas Day after a man was stabbed. A number of nearby roads were also closed and armed police were called in.

Warren Givens (pictured), 44, is described as white, 5’9” tall, medium build with short light brown hair. The police are looking for information but warn that he should not be approached.

Detective Inspector Nick Hills, of Preston CID, said: β€œThis was a serious assault during which a man suffered some significant injuries and I would appeal to anyone who knows where Warren Givens may be to get in touch.

“I would also ask that Warren himself contacts us if he sees this appeal as he knows we want to speak with him.”

Police put an area of Plungington on lockdown at around 11am on December 25. This included a section of Blackpool Road and a number of side roads.

It has been confirmed that a 37-year-old man was stabbed on Eldon Street that morning. He was taken to hospital and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log number 0302 of December 25th or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 55 111. Immediate sightings should be reported on 999.
