A new set of apartments and a community centre could soon be set to replace the former Sumners pub on Watling Street Road.
AdvertisementThe pub, which was a pre-match watering hole for Preston North End fans, was demolished during the summer.
Now PWA Planning have submitted an application to Preston City Council‘s planning officers for the creation of two mixed-use buildings and a community centre building.
The tabled plans see a two-story community centre and four storey building for flexible use, including 24 new apartments.

The scheme will provide two one-bed units and four two-bed units to each upper floor. Therefore the overall split of apartments is six one-bed apartments and 18 two-bed apartments.
30 parking spaces are proposed to serve the building.
A five-story building will be created with 41 apartments along with access and car parking.
It will include six-one bed apartments and 35 two-bed apartments, and 41 car parking spaces.
The community centre will provide two levels of public information, social support and group activities.
The total number of car parking spaces on site will be 81.

The development is said to have been developed in accordance with the principles of being in-keeping with and respectful of surrounding buildings and to preserve and enhance the character of Fulwood.
