The Dog and Partridge has reopened under new management.
Father and son team Mark and Danny Rooney took over the pub last week and opened the doors for the first time on Friday.
The pub was recently closed, with a lease board outside, sparking fears the popular Friargate boozer would be closed over the festive period.
But Danny said: “Don’t worry – we’re still open!”
It is early days for Mark and Danny who have run scores of pubs across Lancashire and Manchester.

Danny says: “We’ll have more to say more about our plans in January. For now the important thing for us was to get open and stay open over Christmas and we will take it from there.”
Last year the pub closed on New Years’ Eve after previous management failed to make a profit.
It reopened on January 10, but is now under new management.
