Police have closed a number of roads off Blackpool Road in the Plungington area of the city.
Armed police have been reported in the area around 11.30am on Christmas Day (Tuesday 25 December).

Pictures sent to Blog Preston show armed officers at a house in Blackpool Road, opposite the Jemmett Street junction.
A statement from Preston Police said: “Please be advised that a short section of Blackpool Road, near to Garstang Road is currently closed whilst police deal with an ongoing incident. Please avoid the area.”
Preston Police said at this stage there were no further details being released about the incident and no re-opening time for the roads.
They declined to give any further information about the incident when asked.
Police confirmed at 12.20pm they are searching for ‘two wanted men’.
A further statement said: “We appreciate your co-operation and support and will re-open the road as soon as we can. Apologies for the disruption and Merry Christmas.”
There’s also closures of parts of Brackenbury Road, Plungington Road, Hardcastle Road, Ainslie Road, Eldon Street and Lorraine Avenue.
The Blackpool Road closure is from the Whitburn Hotel/Flame junction up to the Plungington Road turn.
