Police will close a road in Deepdale ahead of PNE’s game v Aston Villa

A road in Deepdale is to close ahead of Preston North End‘s clash with Aston Villa.

As a result of a sell-out away ticket allocation, police say they are expecting a high number of coaches for this fixture.

Lowthorpe Road is to see limited access on Saturday 29 December between its junctions with Blackpool Road and St Gregory’s Road.

Bill Shankly Crescent may also be restricted.

Moor Park Avenue is to be closed for a certain period of time before, during and after the match.

Sergeant Paul McLernon said: “I hope that these arrangements do not affect access to your property unduly. However, I would ask that a careful consideration is given to travel arrangements to and from your property within the affected times.

“We understand the inconvenience that this causes to residents and we will of course make every effort to keep roads open if safe to do so.”
