Police are investigating a video shot in Preston in which a man launches a racist tirade about Muslims who convert to Christianity.

The recording, filmed in a car travelling from the Moor Park area to North Road, is in response to a video which circulated on social media which appeared to show a man being ‘baptised’ in a bath, at an unknown location.

Update: Police have now arrested a man in connection with the video

The foul-mouthed response, seen by Blog Preston on email, makes threats to people of the Islamic faith who convert to Christianity.

The man, who calls himself Chaudrhy from Garmala, says: “Any motherf***** want to convert to Christianity, we’re going to come an f*** you up the arse. You understand?

“Why you converting for, you motherf*****s? Why would you want to become a Christian?

“You f***ing, baptising, sh*t, motherf***ers.”

It is understood the video was posted on social media during Monday (17 December) with posters claiming the man could be a taxi driver in the city.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We are aware of the video and are investigating.”

Preston City Council were unable to confirm whether the man was a taxi driver but a spokesman said they were aware of the video and would support the police in their investigation where appropriate.

The man in the video, has since contacted the Lancashire Telegraph, and apologised for the video.
