A new car park has opened just a short walk from Preston city centre.
The 66-space Penny Street car park off North Road will help offset the loss of 500 parking spaces when the Market Hall car park is demolished.
The car park will be open 24 hours a day all year round, including bank holidays. The 66 spaces include four designated disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders.
Rates are cheaper than Hill Street and Trinity Square, the two other pay and display surface car parks owned and run by Preston City Council.

Progress on the new car park was halted earlier this year after nearby residents raised objections to the proposals. A revised plan was created, which allowed for more space between the car park and the rear of residents’ properties.
