Firefighters battled one of the largest fires in Preston in recent years.

More than 12 fire engines were at the scene of a major fire in St George’s Road.

A fire at a commercial unit saw people evacuated from their homes and a mosque evacuated.

Reports of the fire first came in around 9pm on Friday (21 December).

Aerial ladders units were also involved in tackling the fire.

Latest updates will appear below as Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service contain the blaze and continue their investigation into the cause.
