An upgrade to a leisure centre in Preston is running a month behind schedule.
Greenwich Leisure Limited who operate Fulwood Leisure Centre say issues with the swimming pool changing rooms are the cause.
The Better leisure centre has seen its teaching pool out of action since early October due to the work meaning there are ‘safeguarding’ issues for public swimming at the Black Bull Lane venue.
A spokesman for Greenwich Leisure Limited said: “We apologise to customers for the short, unexpected delay in the re-opening of the facilities at Fulwood. This was caused during the replacement of the floor in the swimming pool changing rooms.
“We’ve kept customers updated by email and via our website.
“We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers into their new and improved facilities on Monday 14 January, supporting those making New Year’s Resolutions.
“Meanwhile, we’d like to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas.”
